Politician Amar Singh is now the script advisor of a Bengali film, Sesh Sanghat (The Last Conflict), in which he will also be acting. The film is based on Bengal's present situation– a struggle between the landless and land grabbers.

Jaya Prada will be playing the lead role in the film and is also the producer. Singh's role will be that of an ex-minister in Bengal who understands the tribal movement and supports it by guiding a police officer who is dealing with the issue, played by Jackie Shroff.

Singh doesn't want to turn into a fulltime actor. He defends himself saying that he likes movies so he cannot refuse actors he has grown up watching. And since Jaya Prada is associated with him and his party (Samajwadi Party), he couldn't turn her down.

According to the director of the film, national-award winner Ashok Vishwanathan, Singh was very useful as he helped them out with the technical and official language that needs to be used in the film. He also helped in explaining the issue of land acquisition and tribal rights. Singh has previously done a few cameos in Bollywood films.
