An art teacher I had a long time ago once told me that if you want to paint a flower and its foliage you should always add a bit of the flower’s colour (red, pink, purple, whatever) to the green of the leaves around - this lets the flower blend very naturally into its environment. Perhaps there is no better demonstration of this than the way this poppy’s red colour splashes onto the tiny hair of the bud next to it.
Un professeur de dessin que j’ai eu il y a longtemps m’a dit un jour que pour peindre une fleur et son feuillage il fallait toujours ajouter un peu de la couleur de la fleur (rose, rouge, violet, peu importe) dans le vert des feuilles - la fleur se fond ainsi très naturellement dans son environnement. Le meilleur moyen de le démontrer, c’est sans doute la façon dont ici la couleur rouge du coquelicot rejaillit sur les petits poils du bourgeon qu’il côtoie.
